We photograph paintings, drawings, sculpture, installation details, framed work, and flat work for artists, galleries, collectors, and museums in NYC. The process is careful, practical, and built around what the image has to do after the shoot.

Galleries & collections
For a gallery inventory or a private collection, we come to you and photograph on site. We shoot in batches with the same light and the same views every time, so each work in the set matches the one before it.
Every file is named to your own object IDs, so each image lines up with its record. Color is checked against a card in the shot before anything is delivered. Volume work is quoted after a look at the list or the space.
This is photography only. Cataloging, appraisal, and authentication stay with the specialists you already work with.

Yes. Glazed or framed work is shot with a polarized lighting rig. Please clean the glass with a microfiber cloth before the shoot.
Turnaround is 10 business days as standard, delivered digitally. Color is checked on a calibrated monitor against a color card in the shot before anything is delivered.

Recent job
We photographed 35 of Robert Taubart's drawings in his Bushwick studio. Most are about 16 x 20 inches, and some are framed under glass, so we shot those through the glass instead of taking them apart. Every image was edited one by one to clear the dust and specks caught under the glass, then delivered as TIFF masters and high-res JPEGs.

Our own work
On October 12 we photographed a batch of Vlad's own small folk paintings on loose, unstretched canvas. That was 30 frames in about 40 minutes, on a Sony A7 IV with a 70 to 180mm lens at f/8, ISO 100, under flash, with one white balance for the whole set. Each piece was then squared up and saved as its own 16-bit TIFF in Adobe RGB (1998), 37 files in all.
