03Branding films & portraits

Tell your story.

Short films and portraits for artists, galleries, founders, and creative teams — built around who you actually are, not a template.

Creative portrait of a musician by The Lightroom Studio NYC

01Portraits & films

Personal brand, but make it sound less like a hostage note.

Portraits and films start with a practical question: what does your work need to communicate, and where does it need to go? A website image, a grant application, a press kit — each one needs something slightly different from the same session, and we plan around that before we pick up a camera.

We shoot in your studio, your space, or wherever the work actually lives. Not a white backdrop. Not a borrowed loft. Something that looks like you, in a place that makes sense for what you make.

02What we make

Each session ends with files that have somewhere to go.

Each session includes finished images, organized exports, and clear usage-ready files for the places the portraits or films need to live.

  • Artist portraits and creative headshots.
  • Short branding films and practice videos.
  • Studio, process, and behind-the-scenes content.
  • Website, press kit, newsletter, and social assets.
  • Campaign visuals for galleries and creative businesses.

How it feels on the day

We spend a few minutes in discovery before the shoot — understanding the story and where it needs to go. Direction is gentle: enough structure to avoid awkward silence, loose enough to follow the actual energy of the room. We stay out of the way of the work and keep the session human throughout.

At a glance

  • Half-day session, 3–4 hours
  • 20+ finished, full-resolution images

Not headshots

Portraits that look like the actual person, made where the work actually lives — not a white backdrop that could belong to anyone.

Need classic corporate or team headshots instead? That work usually belongs on the business side. Core Visuals NYC →

Haley Guilfoile, muralist and fine artist1:21 · sound on

Eighty seconds with Haley in her studio. She paints one very specific feeling, then listens to people read a completely different story into it. That’s what a branding film is for us: the person and the practice in the same frame, in their own words.

I’m Haley Guilfoile and I’m a muralist and fine artist. My art is a place where I feel I can paint about my feelings and my inner-most thoughts and I can feel a little more understood for a second because I think it’s hard to explain outside of my art sometimes. What’s interesting is I can paint such a specific emotion. I can have such a specific story that I want to tell through a piece and then once it’s on the walls and I’m listening to the reactions of those who see it they tell a completely different story which is it’s really exciting for me to see what my art evokes in others that’s different than what it meant for me. My art very much reflects my personality. I’m colorful and bubbly and feminine and bright and sometimes a little weird and mismatchy. As an artist I think we’re meant to have this intrigue this mystique of who is this person and if you’re willing to play a character you can really play that up but I don’t know how to not be myself to be honest so I think you know what you see is very much what you get and that applies to my art and my fashion and you know when you meet me in person it all comes together. I think I’m just one Haley all the time.
