A university’s art holdings usually split into two jobs. There’s the permanent or teaching collection, which needs the same documentation standard as any archive, with color-accurate hero and detail shots, consistent lighting, and files organized for wherever the collection record lives. And there’s the gallery program itself, running its own calendar of student, faculty, and visiting-artist shows that looks and feels different from a commercial gallery’s. Collection documentation uses the same three tiers as all our artwork photography. Essential, $50 per piece. One color-accurate hero shot. Standard, $85. Hero plus two hi-res detail shots. Gallery, $150. Hero, two details, and a short video clip. Openings and thesis shows run on our event rate instead, at $350 an hour with a 2-hour minimum, editing included.

Yes. Thesis shows and student or faculty openings run on our event rate, $350 an hour with a 2-hour minimum, editing included, the same rate we use for any gallery opening, planned around the academic calendar rather than a commercial one.
Documentation is a small, predictable line next to the rest of a capital project’s cost. We’re glad to provide a written quote early enough to fold into planning, rather than as a late addition once the budget is already set.
Yes, using the same published per-piece tiers as any archive. Volume pricing applies from 10 pieces, and collections of 20 or more get a custom quote, which is where most full-collection projects land.
Every campus runs its own process for approving outside vendors and access. We don’t assume we know yours. Tell us what your institution requires, and by when, and we’ll build the shoot date and on-site plan around it.
Yes. University bookings often run through a procurement step before a shoot date is confirmed. We can supply a W-9 and certificate of insurance ahead of time, send us whatever your process requires.
